If you’ve ever seen a survey that asks women what they want in a man, you’ll find that humor pretty much always comes within the top 3.
Sites on the Internet call flirting-with-humor all sorts of names…things like cocky-funny, simple teasing, sarcasm, and even “negging.” You might have heard one or more of these names before.
Many guys don’t know how to successfully flirt using humor, and they tend to mess up their chances of ever getting the girl as a result…
If you are to get a woman laughing and SIMULTANEOUSLY attract her, there are certain principles you must understand that knowing them and following them will provide you great success with women and dating. They are known as the 4 RULES of humor.
RULE #1: No Clowns in Flirting
There’s a fine line between being funny and attracting women versus acting like a clown. Clowns (and acting like one) don’t attract women. It can come off like you are trying too hard. You may have noticed this when other guys try to get woemn to laugh and end up making a fool out of themselves instead.
Your social status goes down if you act like a clown because you portray being more desperate…like you are wanting her approval very badly… And that’s really bad for attraction.
Definitely no slapstick humor. That only gets women to laugh AT you instead of WITH you.
The humor that attracts women is rarely the kind used by comedians. Many comedians who can get women to laugh a lot rarely get laid!
RULE #2: Tease Her
Perhaps you can remember how 5th grade boys tend to act a certain way when they like a certain girl. They may call her names or even pull her hair.
Although I don’t endorse pulling her hair (at least not for now), TEASING her is a fantastic way to incorporate humor into your arsenal for attracting women. You can’t be a jerk though. It’s about treating the girl in a particular way that displays to her you are totally comfortable in your own skin and can tease her.
The following lists some ways you can tease her…
• Giving her a nickname (my personal favorite)
• Mocking her voice
• With humor and positive intention, change around what she says
By teasing a girl, you are assuming familiarity, and if the two of you just met and you are ALREADY teasing her, there’s really no “uncomfortable period” that typically happens when two people just meet.
RULE #3: Use Your Body Language
Great comedians tend to use their entire body while delivering their gig. I mean they involve their facial expressions, utilize props, gestures with their hands, and anything they can grab ahold of…all to get people to laugh.
Again, clown-like behavior doesn’t attract women. However, make sure you use your BODY LANGUAGE in ways that ensure congruence with the things you say. One way to do this is to establish physical contact while teasing her. This shows her you are a guy who is comfortable to play around her.
Some ways to do this are…
• Playfully swatting her
• Pushing her away, only to pull her back into a hug
• Playing games like “thumb war” and “hand slapping”
Just simply break the “touch” barrier by simultaneously using humor while attracting her.
RULE #4: Do Other Things
How about I share with you an analogy for using humor to attract women successfully? Humor is more like the spice in the recipe than the main dish itself.
By SOLELY teasing her and making her laugh, you don’t provide her the opportunity to notice the other great aspects of your personality, so it is definitely important to use other things that continue to help you build (and maintain) attraction.
Some things you can do while she’s laughing are…
• Establish physical contact
• Storytelling
• Create a deep emotional connection
• Ask her questions
Doing these kinds of things give her the chance to notice you as a well-rounded individual, rather than only as someone who can make her laugh.
Therefore, in your toolbox of tricks to attract girls, one of your most powerful ones is humor. Be sure to get it right by adhering to the 4 rules of humor you’ve just read so that you can create a connection that is both flirty and fun…and always works in your favor to get the girl.
